[Report 20060601] - The 33rd EuroHockey Club Champions Cup Men (Challenge II) and Women (Challenge) in Athens

Tomorrow, Friday 2/6/2006, the beautiful Olympic hockey pitches in Hellinikon, Athens, will open their gates to the 33rd EuroHockey Club Champions Cup Men (Challenge II) and Women (Challenge). All teams have already arrived in Athens and they have made their last preparations before the games.
The weather is rather hot but we expect it to be a bit cooler from tomorrow.

We received an invitation for a hockey tournament that will take place between the 23rd and the 25th of June 2006 in El Saler of Valencia, in Spain for young boys U14, U16 and U18. [Report 20060518b] - EuroHockey Club Champions Cup Men (Challenge II) and Women (Challenge) in Athens

The 33rd EuroHockey Club Champions Cup Men (Challenge II) and Women (Challenge) will take place between 2 and 5 of June 2006 in Athens, Greece, in the two Olympic pitches located in Hellinikon. Eight (8) teams in Men category (including the greek champion A.C. Napeos Apollon) and eight (8) teams in Women category (including the greek champion Athenians H.C.) will compete to win the 2 first places in each category promoting to the higher division.

[Report 20060518c] - World Grand Masters and Great Grand Masters Tournament 2006

The World Grand Masters & World Great Grand Masters Tournaments 2006 will take place between 10 and 15 of September 2006 in Krefeld, Germany (near Dϋsseldorf).
The greek veterans (over 45) team "Hellenic Hockey Mentors" will take place representig Greece.
At the same time, the Men's Hockey World Cup will take place in the nearby National Stadium of Moenchengladbach.

[10/9/2004] World Grand Masters & World Great Grand Masters Hockey Tournament in Athens Greece, 1-10/9/2004

The World Grand Masters & World Great Grand Masters Tournaments 2004 took place between 1st and 10th of September 2004 in Athens Greece. Everyone enjoyed the games and the hospitality of the organizers.
Next tournament will take place after 2 years in Germany.
The two last games were very fascinating. In GGM final, Germany won the Gold Medal in penalty strokes (12-10) after a 0-0 draw to England A during normal & extra time. In GM final, Australia A won Germany (2-0) and the Gold Medal.
You may see photos from the last game [G30] AUS A - GER (2-0) and after that, the Medal & Closing Ceremony and some photos after the closing ceremony.
You may also see the program & the results of all the games as well as some photos from the Opening Ceremony, the Gala Dinner and two more games : [G2] AUS A - AUS B (2-0), [G5] ITA - NED (3-3).

[9 & 19/2/2004] Greek National Team

The Greek National Hockey Team was forced to play two games against Cuba in Madrid in order to participate in the Olympic Games 2004. Suddenly Cuba denied to go to Madrid and Canada took its place (just to eliminate any possibility).
The results :
FIH vs Greece ...sorry!!! Canada vs Greece: 7 - 1 (18/2/04) & 3 - 1 (19/2/04)

[8/2/2004] Athens International Hockey Tournament 4-8/2/2004.

The Athens International Hockey Tournament took place in the brand new Olympic Hockey Stadium, in Hellinikon, Athens , Greece, between 4 and 8 February 2004. It was a test event organized by the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Commitee.

Umpire seminar

The HHF organised a seminar for umpires on Saturday December 21st 09:00-15:00 and on Sunday December 22nd 09:00-17:00 at the Olympic training field in Agios Kosmas.
Στο σεμινάριο δίδαξε ο Ολλανδός διαιτητής της Διεθνούς Ομοσπονδίας Χόκεϋ κύριος Peter von Reth who was the Olympic Finals umpire in Sydney.

The large hockey field.

The large hockey field in Agios Kosmas was finally completed on June 2002 and is now hosting the national teams (men and women) for their training as well as the Hellenic Hockey Championship for men and women.

Important, successfull appearance of last year's champion in the European Indoor Hockey Cup 2002

The A.O.X. "Imittos" team, Greek Champion 2001, participated in the European Indoor Hockey Cup, category C, in Bulgaria. The team ranked 4th after beating the champions of Georgia and being tide with the Yugoslavians.
The players, the coach και οι παράγοντες deserve many congratulations for this great success.

European Indoor Nations Cup for Junior Men 2002

The organisation of the European Indoor Cup for Juniors under 21 was cancelled. The Cup was bound to take place on February 2002 in Hungary and the Greek National team was going to participate in it.
